New US Ambassador to South Africa Leo Bozell III has announced the launch of an Investment Accelerator initiative and the formation of a high-level South African delegation to attend this year’s SelectUSA Investment Summit in Washington, DC, from May 3 to 6.

“The US is committed to welcoming investment that drives innovation, creates jobs and builds lasting partnerships.

“Our markets are deep, our capital is transparent and our legal systems are predictable –

making the US the world’s premier destination for investment. We want to expand commercial partnerships that reward risk-taking and deliver real opportunity for investors who choose the US,” the Ambassador says.

Bozell notes in a press release that the Investment Accelerator leverages recent White House initiatives, including the America First Investment Policy, which streamlines approvals and enhances support for projects over $1-billion.

The initiative provides tailored support to South African companies exploring US market entry or expansion, including investment counselling, matchmaking with US states and economic development offices and guidance on navigating regulatory pathways.

By joining this delegation, Bozell says South African companies can demonstrate leadership, open new doors for collaboration and help shape a more prosperous future for South Africa.

The US Mission to South Africa is assembling a distinguished South African delegation of investors and business leaders to attend the 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit.

Hosted by the US Secretary of Commerce and attracting thousands of global firms, the embassy describes the summit as the “premier event” for companies of all sizes seeking to expand into the US market, offering access to decision-makers from all 54 US states and territories.
