The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) would like to notify motorists of anticipated traffic delays on the Main Reef Road (eastbound) between Houtkapper Road and Westlake Boulevard, in Florida due to road resurfacing works which will commence today, 04 August 2022.
The road resurfacing project forms part of the JRA’s mandate to improve the quality of surfaced roads in the City of Johannesburg. The scope of work includes milling out the existing aged surface and the laying of new asphalt to upgrade the surface. This is one of the long-term solutions intended to address
deteriorated road surfaces and extend the roads’ lifespans which will be of great benefit to road users as Main Reef Road is an arterial route with high traffic volumes.
Road works are scheduled to be completed by the 18th of August 2022, should weather conditions allow. Motorists are therefore urged to exercise caution when travelling along the area to ensure their own safety and that of the maintenance teams.
