It is befitting that the two-day gathering will unfold under the theme: “25 Years since the advent of the 1998 White Paper on Local Government: Are we on course and driven in Building a Sustainable, Responsive & People Centred Local Government”.

The NMA will bring together under one roof public representatives from all three spheres of Government, including Cabinet Ministers, Municipal Leadership in the form of Executive Mayors, Speakers, MMCs, Chief Whips, Councillors, Municipal Managers and Chief Financial Officers from the 257 municipalities of the country, as well dignitaries and international guests.

The NMA is the highest SALGA decision-making structure in between National Conferences and will, among others discuss and debate, the plan of action for the sector, and most importantly, adopt positions on local governance systems, policies and legislative matters that have a direct impact on the current state and the future of local government.

Members of the media are advised to register for MEDIA ACCREDITATION on SALGA website (NMA Banner) or follow this link: https://2cm.es/styO Registration closes Friday, 01 September 2023.
