Premier SOR Mahumapelo has on behalf of the North West Provincial Government welcomed the arrest of 6 suspects in relation to the killings that took place in Marikana between May and October 2017. The suspects were arrested on Saturday 10 February 2018 at Mooinooi, Wonderkop and Idutywa in the Eastern Cape.
A total of 11 murder cases were reported last year and the police have been investigating these cases some of which are reported to be linked to AMCU infighting.
Tebogo Ramashilabele, who heads the Reconciliation, Healing and Renewal unit in the Office of the Premier will today attend a meeting with the land claim committee as part of the on-going efforts to ensure lasting stability in the area.
