Having received a letter from the House Chairperson, Mr Cedric Frolick, advising that action be taken regarding allegations of state capture, the Portfolio Committee on Mineral Resources has undertaken to invite Minister Mr Mosebenzi Zwane to provide answers regarding the allegations in the public domain that concern the mineral resources portfolio.

“We are ready and capable to deal with this matter at any given time, and welcome the Minister for availing himself,” said Mr Sahlulele Luzipo, Chairperson of the Committee.

The Committee has resolved that a decision about a full-scale inquiry into the allegations of state capture will be based on the outcomes of the engagement with the Minister.

Although it is currently occupied with other pressing matters that cannot be postponed, the Committee remains committed to deal with allegations of state capture in the public interest.
