President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana as acting President, from October 21 to 27.
Ramaphosa is undertaking consecutive international visits in the coming days, while Deputy President Paul Mashatile will be on leave over this period.
Some of Ramaphosa’s visits include working and State visits to Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Switzerland, to advance South Africa’s bilateral relations with the respective countries, particularly in respect of trade and investment.
The visits will also enable South Africa to strengthen cooperation with partner States in global forums and contribute to the President’s preparations for his chairing of the G20 Leaders’ Summit, in November.
