The Public Servants Association (PSA) welcomes the appointment of Advocate Dinkie Portia Dube as Deputy Public Protector of South Africa, as announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The PSA congratulates Adv Dube on her appointment to this important constitutional office and wishes her well as she assumes responsibilities in strengthening accountability, good governance, and ethical conduct in the public service. The PSA wishes her success in executing her constitutional mandate in the interest of South Africa and its people.

Adv Dube brings with her a wealth of legal expertise and experience, which the PSA believes will contribute positively to the effective functioning of the Office of the Public Protector. Her appointment comes at a time when public confidence in institutions of democracy must be continuously reinforced through decisive leadership, integrity, and fairness.

As a Union representing employees at the Office of the Public Protector, the PSA trusts that Adv Dube will take the interests and well-being of employees at heart. The PSA is hopeful that her leadership will promote a work environment that upholds labour rights, values consultation, and ensures fairness, dignity, and respect for all employees.

The PSA looks forward to constructive engagement with the Deputy Public Protector and reaffirms the Union’s commitment to working collaboratively with management to advance sound labour relations, institutional stability, and service excellence.
