On Wednesday, 06 December 2023, Prof Tshilidzi Marwala will deliver the 11th Annual Mapungubwe Lecture at the University of Johannesburg in Auckland Park. Prof Marwala is the former vice-chancellor and principal of UJ and current Rector of the United Nations University and UN Under-Secretary-General.

This year’s lecture will be under the theme: The perils and welfare effects of Artificial Intelligence: whither South Africa?
