Media are invited to attend a Pre-World Economic Forum (WEF) breakfast taking place ahead of Team SA’s departure to the WEF Davos Annual Meetings. The WEF Davos theme for 2018 is: “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World”.

The South African delegation to the WEF will be led by Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa. The delegation will comprise of Ministers and business leaders, with the Minister of Finance, Mr Malusi Gigaba, as the lead Minister and coordinator. Participating Ministers include: Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation, Mr Jeff Radebe; Minister of Economic Development, Mr Ebrahim Patel; Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies; Minister of Public Works, Mr Nkosinathi Nhleko and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane.

The purpose of the pre-WEF breakfast is to allow government and business to discuss the message they wish to take to Davos.

Venue: Hilton Hotel, Sandton, Johannesburg
Date: 18 January 2018
Time: 07:30 – 09:30

Media should note that the opening remarks and the Deputy President’s keynote address will be open to media. This will be followed by a closed session between 08:30 – 09:30. The closed session will then be followed by a media briefing.
