Following a resolution of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) to issue summons to Mr Collins Letsoalo, the Secretary to Parliament issued the summons on Wednesday, 5 November 2025.
The summons required Mr Letsoalo to appear before the committee on Tuesday, 25 November 2025. The sheriff made several attempts to serve the summons at Mr Letsoalo’s known addresses, but these attempts were unsuccessful.
The summons has since been reissued by the Secretary to Parliament so that it can additionally be served electronically on the following platforms:
• Parliament’s website: https://www.parliament.gov.za/raf-enquiry
• Parliament’s X account: @ParliamentofRSA
• Parliament’s Instagram account: @parliamentofrsa
• Parliament’s Facebook page: Parliament of the Republic of South Africa
• Parliament’s LinkedIn page: Parliament of the Republic of South Africa
The committee will reserve Tuesday, 25 November 2025, for Mr Letsoalo’s appearance and will reconvene on that date in case he does appear. If he does not appear, the committee will deliberate and resolve on the next steps. Failure to adhere to a summons from Parliament can have serious legal consequences, including criminal prosecution.
Issued by the Parliamentary Communication Services on behalf of the chairperson of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, Songezo Zibi
