Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) congratulates Gen. Lesetja Mothiba as an acting national commissioner replacing Khomotso Phahlane who have been in the news for all the wrong reasons. We should also highlight that the Ministry of Police speedily begins process of selecting a permanent commissioner, we are tired of "actors"

PAC requests that the position of national commissioner should be respected and extra caution should be observed when making such important selection which have got impact on every person.

It is not a secret that our communities are no longer having confidence on our policing system while those who afford hire private security. It is only the poor and vulnerable who obviously cannot afford private security hence they do not have choice but to rely on the state for protection.

We have a great hope that this acting national commissioner is not "captured" like other previous commissioners. We have bad memories about Jaki Selebi, Riah Phiyega and now Phahlane who have been all over the media for all the wrong reasons.
