Official launch of the Rea Vaya Phase 1B services

The City of Joburg Mayor, Parks Tau together with the Members of Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Transport will launch the extension of the new Rea Vaya Phase 1B routes next week Monday in Johannesburg.
 
Minister of Transport Dipuo Peters, Minister of Economic Development Ebrahim Patel and Gauteng Premier Ms Nomvula Mokonyane, and Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Mr Ismail Vadi will be in attendance.
 
The media is invited as follows:
 

Date: Monday, 14th October 2013
 
Time: 08:30- 13:30
 
Venue:
Frank Robertson Park (Milpark), Corner Empire and Owl Street
 
The launch will involve different activities as outlined below:
 
MEDIA PROGRAMME
 
Phase 1
7:00-8:00 - Media Registration and collection of media pack at MilPark
Phase 2
09:30 - Bus departs to Germiston Marco Polo bus plant
10:00- Photo opportunity at bus plant and tour of the bus plant
Phase 3
11:00- Delegation departs to Bosmont Rea Vaya Station
11:10- Photo opportunity of issuing of Rea Vaya Smart card to Ministers and the Mayor at Bosmont Station
11:30- Return ride in the new buses to Milpark station
Phase 4
12:00 – Ribbon cutting and unveiling of a plaque at Milpark station
12:30- Media Briefing at Frank Robertson Park
