The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) is pleased to announce that it has fixed a total of 3000
potholes and patches over a period of one week since the launch of the A Re Sebetseng initiative
on 14 February 2022. The repair and road maintenance works were carried out in Region E in
Alexandra, Sandton and surrounding areas.
Since the launch, the JRA team comprising of maintenance teams from various regions managed
to roll back the service query backlog by:
• Filling 1 496 potholes
• Repairing 1 311 deep road patches
• Unblocking 293 blocked kerb inlets (KIs) and pipes
• Sealing 650 cracks on certain roads
• Refilling 236 reinstatements
• Fixing and installing 115 guardrails
In addition to the above, the teams also laid new road markings and applied asphalt overlay on
several roads in Alexandra and Kramerville.
