ActionSA has noted the judgement by the Joburg High Court dismissing the case of a former councillor who challenged ActionSA’s dismissal of the councillor for non-performance.

ActionSA dismissed this councillor, and eleven others, for non-performance in September this year following a lengthy and thorough performance management process.

Notwithstanding considerable efforts to generate public sympathy by this councillor and others, the court has found against the councillor and in favour of ActionSA.

The fact that ActionSA has not only a right but a duty to performance-manage public representatives is something that we are proud is being affirmed through this process.

South Africa has suffered greatly at the hands of established political parties that have dumped upon them public representatives who fail with impunity.

ActionSA will continue to performance-manage its public representatives and, where necessary, will not hesitate to replace failing public representatives with those who perform their duties with greater commitment as public servants.

Issued by ActionSA National Chairperson Michael Beaumont
