The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in Gauteng will on Saturday welcome to its ranks more than 300 new members from the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) and other political formations.
The event will be held in Oakdene, Johannesburg, where Gauteng provincial chairperson Bonginkosi Dhlamini, IFP national executive committee member Mkhuleko Hlengwa, and other senior party leaders, will preside over the event.
Hlengwa said many of the new members joining the IFP are former MKP leaders who previously held key positions, including coordinators and convenors.
“…their decision to align with the IFP is a clear demonstration of confidence in the party’s principled leadership and its vision for a stable and prosperous South Africa,” he said.
He said this marked a significant development in the party, with close to 500 political parties now registered.
“In the midst of this uncertainty, the IFP continues to stand out as a beacon of hope, committed to restoring dignity, integrity, and respect for the Constitution,” he said.
