Honourable MB Gwala, MPL, Chief Whip of the KZN Legislature and IFP National Chairperson, today called on governments and the private sector to partner with faith-based organisations to tackle social injustice and promote social justice across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.

At the "Catalysing Impactful Collaboration Between Government and Faith Communities Conference" in Centurion, Johannesburg, Honourable Gwala highlighted faith-based organisations' critical role in transforming lives through initiatives addressing crime, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and poverty.

These organisations provide essential services, including food security programs, healthcare clinics, education, skills development, and poverty alleviation. He praised the Mahlasedi Foundation's donation of a fully furnished 7-room house to a family affected by devastating floods in Hammarsdale, KwaZulu-Natal.

He urged governments and the private sector to invest in faith-based organisations, which provide services with love and empathy, rather than seeking political gain. He also encouraged these organisations to combat corruption and prioritize social cohesion to eradicate racism.

Through his foundation, the Khilane Gwala Brotherhood Development Foundation, focusing on environment conservation, preservation, and wildlife protection, Honourable Gwala will advocate for government support and partnership with faith-based organisations.

In conclusion, Honourable Gwala urged stakeholders to collaborate for a just and compassionate society.
