This week, parliamentary committee meetings will conduct oversight visits to post-school education and training institutions and hold committee meetings.
The Portfolio Committee on Higher Education and Training will conduct week-long oversight visits to post-school education and training (PSET) institutions in the North West and Gauteng provinces. These visits are part of the committee's mandate to evaluate the readiness of PSET institutions for the academic year 2025.
On Wednesday and Thursday, delegates to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) will hold a Members’ Training and Capacity Development Session. The training seeks to train Members of the Council on their roles and responsibilities to enhance their work. The two-day session will focus on oversight, budget process, public participation and the code of ethics for Members of the NCOP.
Also, on Thursday at 11 a.m., the chairpersons of the National Assembly oversight committees within the Economic Cluster will hold a media briefing as part of the 7th Parliament's weekly committee media engagement program.
