Gauteng Premier David Makhura and Economic Development MEC Parks Tau, joined by Members of the Executive Council (MEC’s), will tomorrow, Thursday, 01 September 2022, lead the Ntirhisano Service Delivery Outreach Programme in the West Rand, as part of accelerating the implementation of the Township Economic Development Act. The Township Development Act was signed into law by Premier Makhura in April this year. The Act seeks to open up new procurement and market opportunities for township businesses and create financing facilities for township-based enterprises.

The visit to the West Rand will activate township retail opportunities, showcase how township industrial parks are being used effectively, and showcase how value chain incubation links township economic development to high value growth sectors.

The programme will include an activation which will assist with providing access to business development support and highlight how SMMEs can access various opportunities.
