Grid constraints continue to hinder new generation investments and limit the pace of energy reform. Creamer Media will host the second instalment of its 2026 Energy Outlook webinar series on February 3 at 14:00, with a focused discussion on investing in South Africa’s electricity transmission grid.

This webinar (register here) will bring together a panel of experts to unpack the progress being made to expand grid capacity, the readiness of the National Transmission Company South Africa to accelerate investment and the steps needed to mobilise greater private-sector participation.

The discussion will also examine the challenges delaying grid build-out, opportunities to streamline approval processes and whether the country is investing adequately in the digital tools, storage integration and forecasting systems required for a modern, resilient grid.

Panellists will further explore how improved alignment between State-owned power utility Eskom, municipalities, private operators and regulators can support South Africa’s long-term energy transition. Join the discussion to gain insight into one of the most critical issues shaping the country’s future electricity system.
