Future generations must not know racial colours, North West premier Supra Mahumapelo said on Wednesday.

“Our people need to come together in their diversity to fight racism whenever it raises its ugly head. It is sad that we still have many people discriminating others because of the colour of their skin, this is something we must confront together as a society,” he said at a Saam Werk, Saam Trek Dialogue ( loosely translate to work together, pull together) at the North West University’s Potchefstroom Campus.

He said there would be challenges before a united, democratic, non-racial South Africa could be achieved.

“We have a responsibility to build a united, democratic, non-racial North West province.”

The purpose of the dialogue was to afford Mahumapelo a platform to present the extent to which the province was implementing the National Development Plan (NDP) in the context of its Rebranding, Repositioning and Renewal (RRR) vision.

He said the NDP was a tool to build a non-racial society.
