The DA in the Western Cape today flighted its first voter registration campaign posters in Wellington, becoming the first party to do so. Our message to voters is a simple but vital call to action: Register to keep the Western Cape DA.

Over the next few months, residents across the province will be bombarded by smaller parties who seek to fool them with empty promises. The harsh truth that these parties seek to hide is that the DA is the only party that can keep the ANC and EFF coalition of corruption out of the Western Cape. We need to guard against those who will offer nothing to the people of this province other than opening the door to the ANC and EFF’s corruption and looting.

The DA is also the only party with a proven track record of good governance. The Western Cape works because the DA governs in a majority here. Just this week, the DA-run Western Cape Government achieved a historic round of 100% unqualified audits - making it the province's best audit outcome in half a decade. This confirms that the DA can be trusted to manage taxpayer money without looting or stealing, and spend it effectively to make life better for all our people.

All the residents of the Western Cape live this reality every day. The Western Cape is home to:

  • the lowest unemployment rate in South Africa with 54 000 new jobs in the last quarter
  • more than 1200 provincial Law Enforcement officers trained under the LEAP programme in partnership with the City of Cape Town
  • an overall 5.5% decrease in the murder rate in the last quarter
  • a R7 billion budget to be spent across the province to end loadshedding over the next three years, which will enable R69 billion of private sector investment in energy

While the rest of the country is collapsing at the hands of the uncaring and corrupt ANC, the Western Cape is moving forward to a brighter future under DA leadership. The only way to build on this progress is to keep the Western Cape DA.

We will not be satisfied with anything less than an outright majority. With a strong mandate, the DA will deliver more jobs, make the Western Cape safer, and end loadshedding in our province for good.

This future can only be secured if our residents are correctly registered to make their voices heard on election day. Note that you can only vote where you are registered, so if you have changed your address, then you need to please update your details with the IEC. Check your status at check.da.org.za, and register to keep the Western Cape DA.
