Ramaphosa says old SA flag should never be flown again
Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa condemned the display of the apartheid-era national flag by some people who participated in the #BlackMonday protests against farm murders.
Speaking in the National Council of Provinces yesterday, Ramaphosa said those protesters who flew the old flag had "illustrated to all and sundry in our country that they hankered for apartheid".
He said this did not help their cause.
Images of protesters seen carrying the Apartheid-era flag and it being displayed as logos on clothing sparked outrage on social media.
Dlamini says Treasury to review Sassa, Post Office deal points
National Treasury has agreed to review the talks leading up to the stalled deal between the South African Social Security Agency and the South African Post Office, members of parliament have heard.
Minister of Social Development Bathabile Dlamini told MPs in a question session in Parliament that Treasury had mediated between the two entities in a late-night meeting on Tuesday night.
She revealed that Treasury had now agreed to review processes leading up to the current impasse.
And, ANC in Ekurhuleni embarrassed by Masina's 'emotional, anti-ANC' views
The African National Congress in Kempton Park has called for the suspension of its chairperson Ekurhuleni Mayor Mzwandile Masina following his statement that he would resign should Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa be elected ANC president at the party's elective conference in December.
ANC chairperson in Kempton Park Andrew Baloyi said that Ekurhuleni branches were embarrassed by Masina's emotional views and they were worried about his attitude.
News24 reported on Tuesday that Masina was backing Ramaphosa's rival, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, to succeed President Jacob Zuma.
