The Fisheries Branch of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) has extended its condolences and support to the families of the fishers who have lost their lives and those who still remain missing.
We are saddened and are supportive of all the rescue operations to locate the remaining crew and fishers. The Department has deployed a team to the Eastern Cape to support the operation.
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Senzeni Zokwana is scheduled to visit the affected families during this week.
The lives of fishers matter.
