It is very good for the youth of this country that a lying ANC Minister, caught in a cadre corruption scandal, has been removed from the Cabinet. The right thing has been done, and this is good for stability in government and good for South Africa.

For too long, ANC Ministers have taken advantage of their positions, and neglected the youth of South Africa. For an ANC Minister of Higher Education to be fired through such pressure, is a remarkable outcome. It is a first step in the fight against all ANC corruption.

Nkabane lied to Parliament to cover up brazen ANC cadre deployment, and accountability has been enforced. Youth of South Africa can be proud that it is in our Portfolio, Higher Education, that the removal of corrupt, criminal ANC Ministers has begun.

We congratulate, celebrate and praise the work of the DA in Parliament to fight against ANC corruption – specifically forcing the removal of Minister Nobuhle Nkabane.

Now the Higher Education space needs stability, and it needs credibility restored. There are very high expectations for the Department to reform itself away from an ANC cadre agenda, to an agenda of accessible, quality higher education, safe accommodation for students, functional NSFAS, research and innovation, and SETAs which deliver training, not patronage.

We have observed the pressure from the DA, and Karabo Khakhau in Parliament, to make the firing of a rotten ANC Minister a reality.
