The Democratic Alliance in the Western Cape wishes all learners the very best of luck as they undertake their final examinations for 2025. This period is the culmination of a full year of learning, dedication, and hard work. The focus you demonstrate now is a vital investment in your educational journey and future opportunities.
The 2025 academic year has reached its critical final stretch, with learners from Grade R to Grade 11 across the Western Cape beginning their year-end examinations this week. Our Grade 12 learners have been writing their National Senior Certificate exams for nearly three weeks and have approximately three weeks left.
To support their final preparations, all learners are encouraged to make use of the extensive resources available on the Western Cape Education Department’s ePortal at www.wcedeportal.co.za. Public libraries across the province also remain invaluable, offering quiet study spaces, free internet access, and additional learning materials.
Peter Johnson, MPP and DA Western Cape Spokesperson on Education, said: “The DA in the Western Cape wishes every learner writing their 2025 final exams the very best. For learners in Grades R to 11 beginning their exams this week, this is your opportunity to demonstrate what you have learned. Stay calm, revise thoroughly, and trust in the preparation your teachers have provided throughout the year. For our matric learners, you are in the final stretch—keep pushing forward. Focus, manage your time wisely, and have confidence in your knowledge.”
He added, “We also encourage parents and guardians to create a supportive and calm environment at home, which is vital for success during this challenging period. We are confident in our learners’ abilities and wish them every success.”
The DA in the Western Cape extends sincere appreciation to teachers and school staff across the province, whose dedication throughout 2025 has prepared learners for this important milestone. Their hard work in teaching, administering, and marking examinations is central to the success of our education system. We remain committed to supporting quality education and ensuring every learner has the opportunity to excel.
