The DA sends heartfelt condolences to the families of all those who tragically lost their lives in the numerous vehicle accidents that occurred over the weekend.
At least 3 major accidents occurred, including a minibus taxi accident that claimed the lives of 11 people, three of which were children.
As we approach the festive season, it is becoming increasingly important for all road users to be vigilant and obey the rules of the road at all times to prevent more carnage on our roads.
The provincial traffic officials need to be more visible in order to enforce traffic laws and take swift action against those who violate the rules.
We once again offer our condolences to the families of all the victims. Our thoughts and prayers are with them in this difficult time. We also wish those who were injured a speedy recovery.
