The Democratic Alliance in the Western Cape would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of ANC Member of Parliament (MP), Timothy Khoza, who tragically passed away in a car crash this morning.

Three other MPs, the DA’s Basic Education spokesperson, Ian Ollis, Nomalungelo Gina of the ANC, and Cynthia Majeke of the UDM sustained injuries and are currently recovering in hospital.

Mr Ollis has since updated the party that he's doing well and receiving treatment.

The MPs, who were on an oversight visit to schools near Paarl, were involved in a collision this morning.

May Mr Khoza’s soul rest in peace and his family and loved ones find solace during this time.

The DA wishes those in hospital a speedy recovery.
