The City of Tshwane’s Multiparty Coalition Government is proud to announce the successful acquisition and near-complete delivery of 120 new operational vehicles aimed at boosting service delivery across key municipal departments.

This critical investment, which includes branded, fully equipped vehicles fitted with fuel management and tracking systems, reflects our firm commitment to professionalising the public service and building a well-resourced state.

Of the 120 vehicles procured:

  • 64 have been delivered to the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD),
  • 31 to the Regional Operations Centre (ROC),
  • 11 to Emergency Services,
  • 10 to Group Finance, and
  • 3 to the Fleet Pool, with only 1 minibus delivery outstanding.

This strategic rollout strengthens our frontline capacity—empowering TMPD to intensify law enforcement, enabling ROC to accelerate infrastructure maintenance (including pothole patching), and improving responsiveness within Emergency Services.

We are restoring integrity to public procurement processes while ensuring value for money for residents. The branding and installation of canopies, emergency lights, and tracking technology further signals our commitment to transparency, security, and accountability in how these assets are utilised.

While some may dismiss such updates as routine, this delivery is part of a broader agenda: to build a city that works. One vehicle at a time, we are closing the gap between municipal resources and community needs.

The outstanding vehicle delivery is being closely monitored, and updates will be communicated as we work towards 100% completion.
