We are pleased to report that progress at the Brakfontein Substation is going well. Our team is now focused on installing control and protection cables, a critical step in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the substation.

Pressure testing of cables and transformers is currently underway to verify their integrity and performance. These tests are essential in identifying any potential issues and ensuring that the equipment can withstand the electrical stresses it will be subjected to.

The removal of burned panels and cables is also progressing.

MMC for Utility Services and the Department of Energy and Electricity appreciates your continued patience and understanding as we work to restore power to the affected areas.
