The African National Congress calls on South Africans to support and extend assistance to all those affected by the ravages of the Cape storms in various parts of the Western Cape.
We have noted with grave concern reports of raging fires in Knysna, amongst others and reports of displacement and devastation in many other parts of the province.
Our gratitude and appreciation goes to members of the emergency services and we urge them to continue working hard and bring the situation under control. We also urge community members to remain vigilant and safe.
The African National Congress conveys its sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives during this period. We also extend our sympathies to those who sustained injuries and wish them a speedy recovery.
