The South African Communist Party and its alliance partners, the African National Congress and the Congress of South African Trade Unions, and the Friends of Cuba Society and other peace-loving people, will embark on a National Day of Action in solidarity with the people and  the government of Cuba against the criminal and illegal blockade imposed by the United States.

Our active expression of solidarity with the people and the government of Cuba is against all forms of imperialist aggression and regime change machination by the United States in  Cuba.

The United States must end its illegal and criminal blockade against Cuba and occupation of the Cuban territory of Guantanamo Bay unconditionally with immediate effect.

The criminal and illegal blockage by the United States against Cuba comprises extra-territorial sanctions with far-reaching implications affecting other  countries, including South Africa. This must go.

Our solidarity action includes launchimg a humanitarian campaign in support of the Cuban people.
