The AfriForum branch in Potchefstroom repaired more than 2 000 potholes in four months, covering an area of more than 8 000 m2.

“We will no longer stand by and watch how Potchefstroom deteriorates. AfriForum will continue to repair more potholes throughout the year. We will assist residents to ensure that the town’s condition does not deteriorate further as a result of the Tlokwe Local Municipality’s failures,” says Tiaan Oosthuizen, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for North-West.

AfriForum’s Potchefstroom branch keeps statistics of every pothole that it repairs, as well as in which streets repairs are done. “The branch is here to positively contribute to the town and we encourage the community to join us. We have to become less dependent on Government and become more self-sufficient,” says Herman Swiegers, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Potchefstroom branch.
