Illegal dumping remains a pressing issue, and we urge all residents to work with us to keep our neighbourhoods clean. The City will intensify waste collection efforts and enforce penalties against illegal dumping.

Together, we can maintain a cleaner and healthier environment. I will be engaging with MMC for Environment and Agriculture Management to get these issues of waste resolved.

This comes after I, in my capacity as the MMC deployed to Region 4 for Service Delivery, had the opportunity to engage with residents at the Ward 77 Quarterly Community Meeting. We want to assure the community that their concerns have been heard, and the Multi-Party Coalition Government is committed to addressing them.

We also recognize the frustration caused by sewage spillages affecting various areas. As such we are working closely with the relevant departments to address urgent cases while implementing long-term infrastructure improvements to prevent future occurrences.

Residents also raised concerns about the response time to service delivery complaints. There is a commitment from the Multi-Party Coalition to enhance coordination between departments to ensure that issues such as the allocation of service stands, power outages, waste collection, and sewer maintenance are addressed more swiftly. The City is committed to improving efficiency and providing residents with timely updates on progress.

Furthermore, we would like to emphasize that community participation is crucial to improving service delivery.

We encourage residents to report issues through the City’s official platforms and to participate in community meetings. By working together, we can ensure that the concerns of Ward 77 are prioritised and resolved effectively.

The City of Tshwane remains dedicated to improving service delivery. We encourage residents to continue engaging with us through the appropriate channels so that we can work together to build a better Ward 77.
