Following successive surges in by-elections across Gauteng, ActionSA has once again demonstrated its exponential growth potential today, this time in Mogale City’s Ward 2, where the party went from not contesting in 2021 to securing 29%.

Now standing as the second biggest party, trailing the ANC, ActionSA has grown in Mogale City at the expense of the ANC, making it clear that we are the only political party capable of mounting a strong alternative.

Today’s remarkable result was driven by visible leadership and a committed local candidate, Marvin Koloi, who throughout the campaign remained present in the community, accessible to residents and accountable for the promises made.

His consistent engagement stood in sharp contrast to the politics of absence that many residents have experienced and helped build confidence in ActionSA as a credible alternative for local government.

This campaign has laid a strong foundation for the 2026 Local Government Elections, where ActionSA’s growth is a clear sign that residents across the province are recognising ActionSA as the only political party fighting for communities through sustained grassroots work, not chance or short-term mobilisation.

ActionSA thanks every resident of Ward 2 who placed their trust in the movement. This by-election was not the end of the road. It is a sign of momentum, and the work to strengthen, expand and consolidate this support continues.

Issued by ActionSA Gauteng Provincial Chairperson Funzi Ngobeni
