ActionSA welcomes the designation of ActionSA Parliamentary Caucus Leader, Athol Trollip MP, to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

We believe that his experience, ethics, and integrity will ensure that the best interests of South Africa and her people's demand for justice are well represented on the JSC.

Serving as a bulwark of our constitutional democracy, the JSC is entrusted with the critical function of not only selecting fit and proper individuals for appointment as judges but also guiding the government on all matters related to the judiciary and the administration of justice.

Therefore, Athol Trollip's designation is a welcomed step toward strengthening our judicial system and ensuring its alignment with the Constitution and the principles of fairness, accountability and transparency.

ActionSA commits to ensuring that, through our representation on the Commission, our actions are guided only by an unwavering commitment to strengthening the rule of law and ensuring that our judicial system upholds justice and integrity.

Issued by ActionSA Parliamentary Caucus Chief Whip Lerato Ngobeni
